Butterfly Garden

Winter's coming on but here are a few pics of the butterfly garden.  We didn't think to take a "before" picture, but envision overgrown weeds and trash.

Another . . . things weren't really in full bloom when this picture was taken, it looked a lot better with color.

Summer was great except for the weird virus that I had at the end of it.

Here's some pics from Colorado . .  where I was extremely sick, probably from that weird virus and not altitude sickness as I originally thought . .

Me pretending I'm not sick.

The Animas River . . . neither of us -- some random person.

South Park (yes, seriously, South Park)

Now for a rant.  I know this is my own fault for getting sucked into a TV reality show, but what the heck happend to Contender Muay Thai?  It was, in my humble opinion, one of the best Contenders to date, but Versus cancelled it with only a few episodes left to air.  Whatever.

Sick. Day.

I came home sick from work today.  I never do that.   Evidently, Ray shared his germs with me and now I'm DFTC.  So, here's how pathetic I am.  I'm home sick from work, running a temp of about 102, and I feel a compulsive need to clean, not one but both bathrooms.  And do a load of laundry.  I think that this is not normal behavior -- so now I'm going to compensate by watching some trashy TV.  Maybe I'll watch those British ladies who clean people's really dirty houses . . .

Another snowy picture for your amusement . . . those red things in the tree are cardinals.

Come on summer.

Midwinter doldrums.

I haven't posted in a while -- because I've been too darned busy!!  Work, karate, the new house, etc. have been keeping me away from the computer. Last week, we had a musical at school -- turned out pretty well, I thought.  Ray was also sick all week, and (as most men are while sick) pretty pitiful.  I am happy to report that he's feeling better this weekend.

It's been winter here.  Last week we had a snow day, the day before the musical.  That did not make for a happy music teacher, although as previously stated, it turned out pretty well.  I nearly threw up, twice, but managed to keep myself together.

As winter takes its toll on my positive state of mind, I do have things to look forward to:

1) Romantic dinner this evening with my husband.

2) Training in STL next weekend.

3) Spring break in 5 weeks.

Some winter pictures.

New House

We are enjoying the new house -- except for the snakes.  Here are a couple of pics.

A garage we can actually park in . . .

Wild Kingdom.

One of the selling points for our new home was that it has a very nice yard, and the back opens up to a park-like setting.  There's a creek back there, with the typical wildlife that one would expect to see in the suburbs.  SOME of the wildlife however, have decided to bring themselves indoors.  We didn't invite them.  They just show up randomly.  7 baby ringneck snakes to date in the basement (some could be repeat offenders as Ray is into catch and release rather than search and destroy),  one lizard with an attitude who came into the kitchen from the deck, trampling over Ray to get inside, and something that scurried so quickly across the basement floor this morning, I couldn't identify it.  It appeared reptilian, and to be walking on legs, so I'm gonna go with lizard with an attitude.   I'm getting an attitude . . .
